Preschool

3 – 4 years

Our preschoolers are full of wonder and spend a lot of time watching, observing, and imitating. Their imagination is in full force, and they are particularly interested in perfecting their fine motor skills, especially ones that were once challenging. We love to use stations to help them to learn: pour, mix, mash, squeeze! Our classroom is equipped with large markers and crayons for each child to begin working on their grip, this skill will carry over into our Pre-K room when they start working on writing the letters of the alphabet. For large motor we use our indoor and outdoor spaces to work on skills like hopping, climbing, skipping, etc.

The preschool classroom is setup to provide positive experiences; with furniture scaled to their size, and setup to achieve a natural flow. Our curriculum focuses on giving our preschoolers some more freedom and independence, they are often given choices where they can take charge of their own learning and discovery.

Every day our class has circle time: reading books, singing songs, reviewing the calendar, seasons/weather, colors and shapes. Our lesson plans focus on topics that will keep your child engaged as well as prepared for what’s to come in our Pre-K room.
