Toddlers

18 months – 3 years

The toddler room is a place for discovery and developing minds where children are interested in everything and are eager to learn. Our toddler curriculum is created to help develop 2-year-old minds and enrich their use of language with non-verbal to verbal socialization. Toddlers often use parallel play at this stage of development where in group settings, they will play near and next to one another and we provide lots of opportunities for this with close supervision when sharing and intermingling.

We continue to build on small and large motor skills through crafts, indoor stations and outdoor play. Healthy eating and healthy habits like hand washing, using tissues, and covering our cough are another focus for this age group. We also like to incorporate active physical play (crawling, balancing, climbing, etc.), music and movement, building using blocks and magnets, dramatic play with furniture and props, sensory and water play, and finally nature and science. Overall, providing opportunities for your toddler to explore the world around them and learn through play will be a large focus in this room.
